An afternoon filled with emotion and recognition. That was the event of the 3rd edition of the André and Lucia Maggi Foundation award held on November 28, at the AMAGGI headquarters in Cuiabá (Mato Grosso State). Eight social organizations from the Mato Grosso, Amazonas and Paraná states were this edition’s winners.

The award aims to recognize and encourage best practices of institutions and social entrepreneurs that contribute to the sustainable local development of the municipalities where AMAGGI operates. The award is one of the initiatives of the Fundação André e Lucia Maggi (FALM).

The awarded social organizations work with people with disabilities, sports, support for people in health care and the sustainable development of communities.

Three categories were awarded: Good Management Practices, Best Impacts and Social Entrepreneur. The first place in each category will receive R$ 40thousand in cash. The second and third places will receive R$ 20 thousand and R$ 10 thousand, respectively. The amounts will be passed on next year, in addition to a trophy, training, technical visits and mentoring.

Popular Votes

In addition to the technical analysis of the performance of each of the institutions enrolled in the award, this year the community was also able to contribute to the choice of the organizations to be awarded in an online poll held at the FALM website, which reached more than seven thousand votes.

Associação Pestalozzi, which offers educational services for students with disabilities and learning difficulties in the Água Boa (Mato Grosso State) municipality, took two awards: 1st place in both the Good Management Practices and Social Entrepreneur categories, and the latter was represented by Iraci Sant’ana Lima Torquato. “Last year we enrolled and we were among the finalists, but we did not win. This made us look inside and further improve our administration. This is what resulted, and it was only possible because we are like a family and have the support of the entire Água Boa community. This recognition by the Foundation will open even more doors for us and contribute even further to our work”, Iraci said.

Fundação André e Lucia Maggi (FALM) is the institution responsible for managing AMAGGI’s Private Social Investment in the municipalities where the company is present. Its activities are focused on local development, engagement and training of leaderships and social institutions, and developing citizens through art-education.
